About

Marilyn Orr is a lively, skilled and wise coach who thoroughly enjoys connecting deeply with clients in order to facilitate their growth and excellence. With many years of experience counseling, coaching, training and teaching she has the ability to listen deeply, encourage profoundly and challenge appropriately. She sees strengths, potential and gifts in clients often before they can see it in themselves and holds the space for them while they grow in to it.

Perhaps ironically, the Luv Life Coaching name was born at 3am the night of Independence Day. After having wrestled unsuccessfully with appropriate names for coaching for couples, Marilyn literally just woke up with it loudly on her mind. Simple but exactly true, this is professional coaching for your Luv Life!

"The decision to create Luv Life Coaching with its Partnership Coaching Programs was fueled by having experienced the pain that unhealthy marriages caused in my own life. Today I’m enjoying a healthy, committed marriage where the skills I coach on successfully serve my own partnership daily. In addition to being a highly effective coach, I’m also a driven, highly intuitive woman whose wisdom shows up in the perceptive questions I dive into with my clients. I have an infectious enthusiasm for connecting with people in authentic and meaningful conversations that leave all of us inspired. Throughout my varied personal and professional experiences I became convinced that equipping couples with strong partnering skills has a positive ripple effect for families, communities and ultimately every organization where the couple are members. I have a vision to change our world by coaching couples in an effort to create stronger life partnerships that foster healthier, happier communities and freer, stronger next generations.

My background in counseling and organizational health influenced my decision to become a certified Executive Coach in 2005. Drawing on past counselor experiences of supporting couples that were struggling, I recognized the opportunity to develop a proactive coaching approach to support couples in sustaining healthy partnerships. When a couple is able to intentionally develop relationship skills they can create a much stronger foundation to build healthier lives upon.

Shortly after beginning my coaching career, my need to build community (along with some determination and perseverance) led me to found a local International Coaching Federation chapter where I was living at the time in Eastern Canada. This new space provided coaches with mutual and beneficial support that had been absent. This chapter has gone on to become the dynamic community that it is today, spanning four Canadian provinces. Another honor has been to be chosen to be part of a respected team of coaches who equip medical professionals throughout Western Canada with new coaching tools and skills that positively impacted their respective practices and communities of influence. Drawing from all of my experiences I’m enjoying pursuing my current inspirational vision with the same dedication that is has been recognized by my peers as my signature approach.

Practicing what I preach is important to me in all of my endeavors. After publishing a book on resiliency, titled, How Absorbent Are Your Shocks?, I had a series of personal events that fervently tested my own resiliency skills. Recognizing the unfortunate coincidence, I have emphatically decided that my next book will focus on something much more relaxing and fun such as, vacations in the Greek Isles! {*Insert infectious jovial laugh here.} Today, I am as bubbly and friendly as ever. Most recently I have fallen in love with my new life in Austin, Texas where I moved with my husband Bill in 2014. With passions for healthy eating, being outdoors, and listening to great music, I feel like I have hit the jackpot.

Tackling big dreams has me currently working on training other coaches and ministers to join in this vision to change the world through her Partnership Coaching Programs. In addition, my husband Bill and I are creating a green wedding venue and wellness retreat in the beautiful Texas Hill Country."
